Carat Takes Grand Prix at SMA 2013 Awards!

Carat Singapore won two awards and iProspect scooped one at the Singapore Media Awards, held in the Ritz Carlton Millenia last night (29th August).

Our work with the Health Promotion Board on their HIV prevention campaign was recognised as the Best Use of Radio, and was also lauded with the Grand Prix award for Best Overall Campaign.

The campaign, a close collaboration with both BBH and MediaCorp, clearly impressed the judges with its unique way of inspiring discussion about subjects which are normally swept under the carpet, using a bespoke radio call-in show and innovative, targeted calls to action. Success for this campaign was particularly rewarding, as it actually helped to save lives through increased HIV testing rates. 

iProspect, Aegis Media’s performance digital specialists, picked up the award for Best Use of Search for their excellent work with AirAsia.

In the ongoing battle for low-cost air travellers in Asia, the internet is the preferred booking platform, and striking the right balance between costly clicks and profitable page-views is absolutely key to delivering ROI. The iProspect team continue to innovate in this environment, showing outstanding results which directly benefit AirAsia’s bottom line, as this award recognised.

On top of the three fantastic wins, Carat was also shortlisted for Best Use of Magazines, for adidas Singapore’s launch of the Boost range of performance sportswear, and Best Youth Marketing Campaign for our work with the National Environment Agency, publicising the Smoking Ban Extension earlier this year.

Sister agency Vizeum was a finalist in the Best Use of Newspapers category with their client CIMB Bank, to top off a very successful evening for Aegis.

The Singapore Media Awards are organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents in Singapore, and are now into their ninth year.
